Yuza Restaurant

Restaurant Yuza is located in a glass-fronted office building in the very centre of Liptovský Mikuláš, with parking available just a short distance from the entrance. The interior is modern, featuring industrial elements and illuminated by factory-style lamps. A prominent bar will immediately catch the eye upon arrival. The atmosphere is somewhat undermined by rather loud disco music, one of the few aspects we would consider changing. Yuza is a contemporary bistro whose kitchen reflects a cross-section of current European gastronomy, shaped by Chefs who have returned from working abroad, while still incorporating refined Slovak influences. The team makes a clear effort to prioritise local ingredients sourced from regional farmers. Service staff are pleasant and professional. At lunchtime, the restaurant offers a set menu, while in the evenings and at weekends, guests can choose from an à la carte menu. From this selection, we opted for poached cod in a butter and wine reduction, served with grilled pak choi, cauliflower purée with butter, beluga lentils, a chive and fennel sauce, and glazed baby carrots. The smooth cauliflower purée was nicely paired with the beluga lentils, though the fish itself was slightly dry and firm, an area where there is room for improvement. Yuza is equally suitable for those seeking a reliable lunch menu, as well as for business dinners, family weekend lunches, or relaxed gatherings with friends.
