Xena’s Kitchen is a welcoming Bratislava restaurant with a homely atmosphere and a light, modern approach to cooking. The waitstaff are friendly and personable, creating a natural, relaxed atmosphere, though greater knowledge of wine and the ability to make recommendations would be a welcome addition. The kitchen focuses on honest, local, and seasonal ingredients, simple flavours, and careful preparation; the dishes feel fresh, genuine, and quality-driven. The Chef is not afraid to experiment while always maintaining a balance between tradition and lightness. Highlights included a langoš topped with BBQ pulled pork and a pea-and-cheese dip, a refreshing twist on the classic langoš typical of urban neighbourhoods. The beef sirloin with chimichurri, on the other hand, was a more traditional dish but executed perfectly.
