The remarkable Japanese restaurant Wabi Sabi is located on the Danube riverbank in the River Park complex. Its intimate interior features just a few tables and a private room designed in a traditional Japanese style with paper grid doors. The minimalist interior includes an open kitchen, where the sushi master prepares both classic sushi and omakase. Another speciality of Wabi Sabi is its selection of delicacies from the robata grill. The attentive yet unassuming service quickly wins guests over through the knowledge of the menu and will confidently guide them through Japanese terminology to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. We began with miso shiru soup, which pleasantly awakened our taste buds. We tried the pork belly from the robata grill, perfectly tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Likewise, the prawns with kizami mayonnaise and avocado met the highest standards. As a side dish, the pickled vegetables – mushrooms, daikon, cauliflower and beetroot, perfectly complemented the richness of the meat with their pleasant acidity. A tasty salmon roll with well-seasoned rice and gently flambéed fish, with crunchy cucumber and avocado in the centre, is a given for an establishment of this calibre. For dessert, a French pancake reimagined with yuzu, mango, edible flowers, and crumble was fresh, creative, and delicious. If you are looking for authentic Japanese cuisine with an excellent selection of wines, especially sake, in the wider city centre with easy access, Wabi Sabi is a great choice.
