Verde Topoľčany

A favourite among locals, restaurant Verde is located in the centre of Topoľčany. While the exterior feels rather dated and not particularly inviting, stepping inside reveals a modern, renovated interior that immediately raises expectations. The first dish we tried, duck pâté, was a pleasant surprise. Prepared with cognac and wine, accompanied by cranberries and marinated pear and served with a croissant, it showed a fine balance of flavours and textures. The chicken supreme clearly demonstrated the kitchen’s effort to ensure that dishes are not only well prepared and well seasoned but also attractively presented. We particularly appreciated the truffle purée, which complemented the dish without overpowering it, as well as the sauce served separately in a sauceboat. The service was friendly and welcoming, although a more polished staff uniform would help create a more professional impression. The wine list was missing prices, which may be confusing for guests. Nevertheless, Verde proved to be a very pleasant surprise, showcasing genuine effort and creativity in the preparation of truly enjoyable dishes. We would certainly recommend it when visiting Topoľčany.
