The Italian restaurant trattoria francescana is located in the centre of Košice. Thanks to large windows, the interior is bright and tastefully furnished, albeit perhaps a little too simply, with wooden furniture. The compact space offers guests an intimate dining experience, free of unnecessary embellishments. The focus is on Italian cuisine, particularly pasta dishes that change according to seasons. The menu is very concise, consisting of a single soup, a few main dishes, and one dessert. The owners have confidently embraced this concept, relying solely on fresh pasta. Service was very pleasant and attentive, with staff familiar with the dishes and able to recommend both food and wine according to the guest’s preferences. We chose the mezze maniche with fagioli, rosmarino, and pecorino – handmade pasta with an inventive mix of white beans in a sauce of Calabrian nduja, accented by the pronounced flavour of rosemary and finished with Pecorino cheese. Essentially, this was a creative take on the classic pasta e fagioli: subtly spicy, creamy, and hearty. trattoria francescana is ideal for informal dining, whether with family, friends, or for a romantic meal.
