Semillon Restaurant

Restaurant Semillon, set amid beautiful vineyards, is part of a well-known winery in Vráble and impresses already with its exterior. A striking modern concrete building rising from the vineyards signals a serious commitment to quality and presentation. The minimalist interior is complemented by brick arches and a series of artworks featuring microscopic enlargements of vine elements. The atmosphere is further enhanced by a genuinely warm and friendly team led by head Chef Roman Borovský. We had the opportunity to taste seasonal goose and duck specialities as part of a tasting menu, presented with a high level of creativity. The Chef focuses on bold, yet harmonious flavours and works with the finest local ingredients, which he personally sources from nearby suppliers. The food reflects the experience of a skilled Chef and is well worth travelling for, something clearly reflected in the restaurant’s popularity and occupancy. If there were anything to improve, it would be greater attentiveness from the service when it comes to refilling water or clearing unused wine glasses from the table. The wine list consists exclusively of wines from the estate itself, yet the selection is relatively broad. Highly recommended. If you are considering a gastronomic trip within an hour and a half of the capital or simply find yourself craving classics such as granadír, bryndzové halušky or a duck feast reinterpreted in a way that will change your perspective, Semillon is the right choice.
