Rosto Steak House

The location of Rosto Steak House in the centre of Košice, just a few steps from Hlavná Street, makes it a natural destination for locals and visitors seeking a genuine steak. From the outside, it appears simple, without excessive effort to impress. Inside, darker tones, wood, large paintings, leather seating, and a refrigerator displaying dry-aged meat at the entrance set the tone. Rosto is lively, friendly, and informal. Service is swift, and during the à la carte service, dishes are presented with gloves. The menu is built around meats, grilled dishes, and salads. We recommend the robust beef broth with julienne vegetables, beef, and small dumplings, and as for the main, the entrecôte steak from the rib section, notable for its fine structure and pronounced flavour. The characteristic marbling gave the steak both juiciness and richness. The recommended baked potato with herb butter proved an excellent accompaniment. Served on a traditional wooden board, the presentation was straightforward, perhaps leaving a little scope for refinement. Alongside the steak, we chose two warm sauces – a rich demi-glace and a green pepper sauce – both were flawless. Rosto Steak House delivers precisely what it promises: meat prepared in a style people appreciate, and it maintains its standing with confidence.
