Between Žilina and Považská Bystrica, at the Predmier motorway rest area, you will find a small restaurant called Provence. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by the comforting aroma of home-style cooking. The clean, country-style interior primarily serves travellers in need of a break during a long drive. We tried the bean soup, generously filled with beans, potatoes, and smoked meat. While the flavour was pleasant, the consistency was slightly watery. The classic fried cheese with chips and tartare sauce was firm even after cutting, yet tasted good. Dessert options were limited to a single apple cake, which proved to be quite enjoyable. If you find yourself hungry while driving along the highway near Žilina, this is a convenient place to stop.
