Zwicker Restaurant and Guesthouse is just a five-minute drive from the historic centre of Prešov. Set within an equestrian complex with greenery and views of the horses, it is also a popular venue for weddings and special events. Inside, the space is bright and airy, with light tones, wood, metal, and plenty of natural light. Zwicker’s kitchen blends modern bistro fare with classic dishes, featuring a regular seasonal menu and tasting dinners. Emphasis is placed on elegant plating, seasonal ingredients, and local produce, much of which they grow or raise themselves. What makes this restaurant particularly special is that it is run by two passionate Chefs who trained under some of Slovakia’s finest. For such a creative menu, we would have welcomed a small amuse-bouche to start, and an even more attentive, though already professional and cheerful, service could elevate the experience further. We could not resist the grilled catfish, whose juiciness and subtle smoky notes were complemented by a creamy sauce with caviar. Crunchy peas and a tart gooseberry accent added a playful contrast. This unusual combination clearly reflects the Chefs’ strong personal touch. The Dukátové buchtičky were a stunning modern take on a classic dessert, topped with fragrant rosemary foam, paired with a contrasting quince-plum jam and crunchy meringue pieces. Zwicker has earned its reputation as a place where locals can always rely on a great meal, and where tourists can come for a memorable culinary experience.
