The restaurant of ERB brewery, located on a picturesque street near the centre of Banská Štiavnica, is part of a boutique hotel and an artisan brewery of the same name and is among the most renowned in Slovakia. Wood, brass, stone accents, and warm lighting create an atmosphere that feels elegant yet comfortably relaxed. The kitchen at ERB is built on Slovak gastronomy, with a clear emphasis on local ingredients, honest preparation, and thoughtful combination with craft beer. The menu combines classic dishes with a contemporary interpretation, ranging from chicken broth to more refined specialities that reflect the brewery’s tradition. Service is professional while genuinely warm and welcoming. The chicken broth with noodles had a delicate yet full flavour; the vegetables were finely cut and retained their freshness. The brewery goulash featured generous pieces of beef, a rich, aromatic sauce, and a house-made Carlsbad dumpling, exactly as one would expect from a brewery kitchen. The goulash was a hearty, satisfying dish with a flavour that naturally calls for a glass of beer. ERB demonstrates that even in a popular tourist destination, it is possible to run a restaurant that resists mediocrity.
