The Restaurant Mlyn 108 is in the building of a reconstructed mill. The original milling mechanism and period decorations highlight the building's former character, with the interior predominantly featuring wood and stone. The menu reflects this character by offering clever, simple dishes that focus on ingredients, flavour, and presentation. Pear and parsnip cream, complemented by roasted almonds, was enhanced with vanilla oil, while a baby pear macerated in wine provided a different combination of flavours with each mouthful. If the duck breast had had crispy skin rather than a slightly chewy texture, it would have been the perfect main course, especially when paired with variations of beetroot and plum, along with fantastic quark dumplings. The brownie, crispy meringues, crumble, and tangy mandarin gel made nearly a flawless combination; one you simply do not want to stop eating. The restaurant has proven its ability to provide high-quality gastronomy. On the other hand, it claims that its goal is for guests to feel comfortable. The kitchen doors are always open, allowing diners to observe the Chefs at work. However, during our visit, while the food was excellent, we were slightly disturbed by the inattentive and disengaged service, as well as the negative emotions emanating from behind the kitchen doors. We believe that, alongside its excellent food, the restaurant should focus on creating a more welcoming atmosphere for its guests.
