Ramen Kazu

Ramen Kazu enjoys an ideal location in the centre of Bratislava, just a few steps from Hlavné Square. At first glance, it is unassuming, and a simple shop window with a Japanese banner and modest signage can easily be overlooked. The interior is minimalistic, though it could benefit from better maintenance. The ramen menu features all the essential broths: shoyu, miso, and shio, and is complemented by traditional sides such as gyoza dumplings and fried chicken karaage. The staff are fast and friendly, although slightly more engagement with customers would enhance the experience. Lunch and dinner hours can get busy, but this lively buzz adds to the restaurant’s authentic character. We tried the miso ramen with egg, butter, and corn, which delivered a rich, creamy flavour balancing saltiness, umami, and gentle sweetness. The noodles had the perfect springy texture. Another highlight was the mini karaage don, a rice bowl topped with bite-sized pieces of fried chicken marinated in soy sauce and ginger. Ramen Kazu offers one of the most authentic ramen experiences in Bratislava. Unassuming from the outside, it represents a little piece of Japan that is unforgettable for its flavour.
