PORKBELLY GASTRO HOUSE

The Žilina Tex-Mex restaurant PORKBELLY has a firm spot among its loyal customers, and especially in winter, we recommend making a reservation in advance. The menu features Mexican classics such as burritos, tacos, and quesadillas, as well as popular burgers and sandwiches made with pork or beef. Many people come here to enjoy a beer, which pairs perfectly with this type of food. We tried the pastrami sandwich. The combination of juicy meat, bold sauce, and crispy house-made bread was unmistakable. As a starter, we recommend the jumbo prawns in panko breadcrumbs, which were juicy and crunchy at the same time. They will taste even better when drizzled with lime and dipped into the chipotle sauce. For dessert, we opted for the classic American apple pie, which, however, was not entirely to our liking. The caramel topping was slightly bitter, and the pastry was a little too firm. Desserts are where there is room for improvement in this otherwise excellent establishment. Even so, we would still highly recommend PORKBELLY to anyone who appreciates robust, flavourful meat dishes.
