PIVOT in Bratislava is a modern establishment serving expertly poured draft beer, honest traditional cuisine, and the relaxed atmosphere of a sports gastropub. The interior is comfortable and understated, referencing the history of the sports hall and dominated by an impressive beer bar. The staff are knowledgeable about the menu and pour excellent beer, although they could be slightly more proactive. The kitchen offers seasonal dishes focused on quality ingredients and balanced flavours, ranging from modern interpretations of traditional recipes to original beer pairings. The menu features unusual spreads, thick bean soup Jókai-style, a wonderfully juicy pork schnitzel, and changing seasonal specials. We tried the flank steak with pepper sauce; which we would have preferred a bit more tender and rösti on the side could have been a bit crispier. PIVOT is an ideal place for those seeking excellent food, quality craft beer, and an informal yet cultivated atmosphere in Bratislava’s city centre.
