PaB Kuszmannov Bazár is located in the picturesque centre of Tatranská Lomnica in Vysoké Tatry, an area that perfectly combines mountain panoramas with easy access for tourists. For guests, it offers a unique experience of stunning views, surrounding nature, and gastronomy all in one. The exterior, typical of traditional High Tatras architecture, exudes elegance. Inside, wood and stone elements and designer details dominate, reflecting the era of the Habsburg monarchy; a concept that shapes the entire venue. At one of the tables sits a figure of Franz Joseph, and guests often enjoy taking photos with it. The staff are attentive, and the space feels like a traditional mountain tavern elevated by high-level gastronomy. Head Chef Jaroslav Bachleda builds his cuisine on local ingredients, quality produce, and inspiration from aristocratic culinary traditions. The menu is a tour of Austro-
-Hungarian classics, complemented by house-brewed craft beers and Viajur wines from their vineyard. The most striking and hearty dish we tried was the expertly prepared pork cheeks. Tender and juicy, with a rich texture that melted under the pressure of a fork, they were paired with a beer sauce boasting deep, slightly bitter, and sweetly caramelised notes. A modern touch came in the form of bacon foam. The bread dumpling retained its traditional texture, yet its form and preparation felt contemporary. A sprinkling of leeks added freshness and lightness. Overall, i is a modern take on classic dishes, executed with technical precision.
