PaB Donau

In the field of Austro-Hungarian cuisine, Bratislava has gained a new player arriving all the way from the Tatras. PaB Donau is the sister establishment of the successful PaB Kuszmannov Bazár in Tatranská Lomnica, a concept known for offering honest craft beers and traditional beer snacks presented in a modern way. You no longer need to travel to Vienna or across the Danube to enjoy a nice Austro-Hungarian meal. The menu is curated by the charismatic Anton Meszároš. Dishes like a veal schnitzel covering the entire plate or twelve-hour roasted pork cheeks with mangalica bacon, pickled gherkins, and creamy tarhoňa perfectly represent the spirit of the PaB. Worth mentioning is also the beer krémeš with sweet vanilla custard, complemented by a slightly tart topping, flaky pastry, and almonds. High-quality ingredients and clean, elegant plating turn even pub food into a special culinary experience. The restaurant also offers a generous wine list and an interesting selection of craft beers. However, on this occasion, the exceptional cuisine was not fully matched by the service. If the staff improves their knowledge of the menu and wine list, PaB Donau will be well on its way in the right direction.
