Since opening, ORIGIN has firmly secured its place at the pinnacle of Slovak gastronomy for two years already. A modest yet ambitious project by the Heuser couple, it continues to gather momentum with each passing month. The team keeps expanding, while the dishes remain consistently outstanding, despite the fairly frequently changing menu. Head Chef Lukáš Heuser, even at a young age, ranks among the Slovak elite, and we dare say, among the European top tier as well. Our Chef of Tomorrow award is constantly being reaffirmed by his skills and every new menu he presents. Service improves month by month, and once it reaches the top, there will be little left to fault. Whether you sample perfectly prepared Slovak freshwater fish such as zander, trout, or sturgeon, or opt for a combination of vegetables and sweet flavours, the experience here is always captivating. That is without even mentioning the snacks and the onion bread with herbs and butter, which are a delight from the very start. The bold flavours that have become the restaurant's signature may not be for everyone, but it would be a shame not to give them a chance. The non-alcoholic drink pairings, as a new addition to the menu, are in no way inferior to an excellent selection of wines. Beyond the outstanding food and drinks, another unique feature of ORIGIN is its concept of ease and accessibility. Whether in pricing or in the atmosphere, where you can comfortably sit back and relax and watch the three hours fly by. Leaving the restaurant is the hardest part, as you find yourself longing to stay longer and linger in the moment, savouring the flavours you have just experienced.
