Lemberg Bistro

Banská Štiavnica has an unmistakable charm. The old streets seem to call out for high-quality restaurants to welcome the tourists who visit the town. Our steps led us to the family-run bistro Lemberg, known for its vegetarian cuisine. The diverse menu features dishes from around the world, ranging from Ukrainian to Japanese. We sampled the Ukrainian and Georgian options. While the vegetarian borscht might need a touch of fine-tuning, the superbly crispy kartopľaniky left no doubt that we will return. We finished the meal with Georgian dumplings, khinkali, in an unconventional sweet version with strawberries and vanilla cream. Although we would have preferred the cream to be thicker and more flavourful, the khinkali left a very positive overall impression. Both the restaurant’s interior and the food provided a memorable experience, however, some improvement in the smoothness of the service would elevate Lemberg even further.
