Leberfinger

Leberfinger is a Bratislava legend, set amid the park of Janko Kráľ and close to the iconic UFO Tower. Whether arriving on foot, by bike, or by car, the restaurant is easy to recognise thanks to its distinctive exterior, reminiscent of an Austrian country house. The menu features dishes from Austrian cuisine as well as recipes inspired by old Pressburg traditions. The establishment is not merely a tourist spot but also a place where locals pause during walks or bike rides. We did the same toward the end of the day, looking for something lighter from the menu. The staff assisted us with our choice and recommended the long-simmered beef broth, rich in flavour and served with a generous amount of meat and diced vegetables. We also tried the buckwheat salad with fried goat’s cheese, which, combined with roasted beetroot and pumpkin, created a pleasant harmony of flavours. A slightly more generous amount of dressing would have improved the dish. For dessert, we opted for an unusual krémeš without the traditional top layer of puff pastry; instead, it featured thick whipped cream and a gently sweet vanilla base, making it light and easy to enjoy. Leberfinger remains consistent in maintaining its standards, and with improvements in service and wine selection, it could easily move to the next level.
