Koliba Štiavnická Anča

Koliba Štiavnická Anča is located directly at the exit from the R1 leading towards the popular tourist destination of Banská Štiavnica. The restaurant is spacious, divided into several sections, and focuses on honest Slovak cuisine prepared from regional ingredients. The menu is rooted in Slovak classics, complemented by seasonal offerings. A winter staple, kapustnica, was thick, hearty and wonderfully aromatic, with a rich colour and a pronounced flavour of smoked meat and sausage, balanced by the acidity of the sauerkraut. The bryndzové halušky were prepared exactly as they should be: soft dumplings, bryndza with a full, creamy flavour, and crisp bacon. We would place them among the best found in Slovak salašes and kolibas. The lokše filled with plum and poppy seed were thin, delicately crisp at the edges and soft in the centre. Koliba Štiavnická Anča brings together honest Slovak cuisine, careful preparation, and a cosy atmosphere into a harmonious whole.
