Klapka restaurant

10.5 | 20

Restaurant Klapka in Komárno is named after the Hungarian revolutionary general whose statue stands just next to it on the main square. The restaurant has undergone a sensitive renovation, and today it combines elegance, a sense of luxury, and a welcoming atmosphere. The interior is defined by an exposed stone vault, while in the summer months guests can enjoy a spacious outdoor terrace. Traditional dishes reinterpreted in a modern way, paired with a selection of Hungarian wines, promise an authentic experience with a few surprising touches. The rabbit with excellently prepared Carlsbad dumpling, briefly pan-fried, and a rich, flavourful sauce makes for an ideal autumn dish. The sous-vide chicken supreme, accompanied by asparagus, felt fresh and light, with lingering notes of summer. The only disappointment was the dessert, which lacked both technical finesse and creativity. Whether for a quick lunch, a romantic date or a stop during a stroll around Komárno, Klapka is a great place to explore the nuances of Hungarian cuisine in the city.
