Restaurant Focus is located right in the heart of Žilina, just a few steps from the main square. For many years, it has ranked among the city’s finest dining spots and remains a reliable choice for a romantic dinner. The service is truly of a high standard, with the staff happy to advise not only on food selection but also on wine and suitable pairings. We were pleasantly surprised at the start by a tasty amuse-bouche of homemade turkey ham with a sauce, served on toasted bread. The veal pâté with cranberries and shallot compote was equally enjoyable. On the recommendation of the staff, we chose the beef shank with parsnip purée; its gentle sweetness and earthiness paired beautifully with the tender meat. The demi-glace was rich and perfectly seasoned. We finished the evening with a crème brûlée, delicate and creamy, with just the right level of sweetness. The presentation of all the dishes deserves special mention. On your next visit to Žilina, Restaurant Focus is certainly well worth a stop.
