FACH is among the restaurants with the most impressive settings in Bratislava, defined by clean Nordic lines, light-coloured wood interiors, and live plane trees in a covered, light-filled courtyard. Under the guidance of Matej Tuhý, the restaurant offers honest food built on seasonality, quality, and origin. The menu bursts with energy and playful creativity on the plate. Bread with butter is a local speciality. Own, house-made bread served with miso-flavoured whipped butter, finished with a crunchy breadcrumb crumble. Remember rice in your tomato soup from childhood? At FACH, the rice is fried first, adding a delightful element of crunch. Grilled tomatoes quite literally burst with flavour in your mouth, enhanced even further by a tomato jam accompaniment. The pork cheeks, paired with perfectly smooth parsnip puree and buckthorn, were excellent, though a few descriptive words from the staff would have elevated the experience even more. The Chef also transforms the classic potato dumpling filled with plum by adding poppy-seed chips and pickled sour cherries. The beverage selection is equally impressive, featuring cold-pressed juices, cocktails, mocktails, fermented drinks and house-made juices. FACH is a rarity. It is hard to find another place in Bratislava that combines such a unique location under the tree canopies with great ambience, a creative menu, and service that truly wins you over.
