Elements Bistro, part of Hotel Elements, is one of the newer gastronomic additions to the High Tatras. The interior is dominated by wood, leather, and stone, with large windows allowing an abundance of natural light. The kitchen focuses on modern Slovak cuisine with international influences, emphasising seasonal and local ingredients while transforming traditional flavours into contemporary, visually appealing presentations. The staff are professional and natural, though they could provide guests with a more detailed introduction to the menu and its offerings. The fusion of Slovak tradition with modern gastronomy was evident in the starter of pork cheeks. Freshness was brought to the dish by the now nearly forgotten quince, complemented by the subtle heat of horseradish foam. We also had cheeks as the main course, this time veal, served with a sauce carrying a pronounced paprika aroma and finished with browned butter. Halušky made an excellent side, as did the pickled gherkins. The dessert, traditional dukátové buchtičky, was equally commendable, nicely enriched with plums and poppy seeds. Elements Bistro is an ideal stop for gourmets seeking quality, creativity and a relaxed atmosphere within an elegant mountain setting.
