Camelot is one of Košice’s established dining venues, long built on classic cuisine and honest, traditional recipes. The kitchen performed consistently, at times offering very pleasantly mastered flavours with delicate textures and well-executed techniques. Occasionally, some dishes might have benefited from bolder seasoning or improved balance, but the overall experience remained harmonious. The attention given to the beer bar was also a pleasant surprise, with a clear focus on both technique and the quality of beer service. The draught Pilsner was clean and refreshing, complementing the kitchen’s performance beautifully. Service met basic expectations and was professional and friendly, though occasionally slightly distracted, but this did not detract from the overall experience. We were very pleasantly surprised by the flavour and texture of livers. It was tender and very flavourful, without the typical bitterness, while larger pieces of onion added a pleasing texture. The classics did not disappoint either, with the creamy sviečkovica and the excellent kráľovský trhanec with plums and poppy seeds both impressively executed. The interior reflects the restaurant’s traditional style, though it could benefit from more meticulous upkeep. A tidier, cleaner environment would better showcase the quality of the kitchen’s offerings. Camelot remains a reliable choice, delivering sincere, hearty cuisine alongside expertly poured beer.
