AQUA MARIA RESORT

Guesthouse with restaurant AQUA MARIA is a third-generation family enterprise with a twenty-nine-year tradition. Its cuisine and services are deeply rooted in the vineyard landscape, serving as a welcoming gateway to the Tokaj wine region. The wine list features very few wines of a foreign origin, clearly signalling strong support for local producers. The menu focuses on traditional dishes presented with a modern touch. Highlights include beef cheeks braised in red wine with porcini mushrooms – so tender they can be cut with a fork – and bryndzové pirohy with pulled meat. A generous portion of pheasant broth with house-made noodles impressed with its bold flavour and rich golden colour. The sous-vide pork loin with herb-and-garlic crust would have benefited from a slightly shorter cooking time; however, the gnocchi in a creamy basil and sun-dried tomato sauce, finished with roasted onions, elevated the overall experience. Soft, stuffed pirohy lavishly coated in butter provided a comforting and satisfying finale to our Tokaj adventure. The entire experience was enhanced by attentive, personal, yet thoroughly professional service. AQUA MARIA is proof that years of experience are reflected not only in the quality of the dishes but also in the level of hospitality provided, making it a place not to be missed when travelling through the Tokaj region.
