Albrecht Hotel & Restaurant

Hotel Albrecht offers a stunning view of the capital city, quite literally “in the palm of your hand” along with a restaurant that presents a fresh menu based on fresh and seasonal ingredients. It is popular for business lunches as well as family gatherings. In addition to the restaurant, there is a cocktail bar with a wide selection of premium drinks, conveniently located by the entrance. The menu features classic dishes with a modern twist, complemented by various Chef’s specials. The river crayfish cream with subtle coconut notes was built on a distinctive bisque base. One minor drawback was the lack of dish description from the staff during service. We also tried the octopus alla luciana, which we dare say was one of the best in town we have tasted. The meat was tender and, towards the end, even slightly crunchy. We particularly enjoyed the combination of roasted baby potatoes with a distinctive pomodoro and paprika sauce, cherry tomatoes, cucamelon and jalapeños, which pleasantly tickled the palate. After an otherwise pleasant lunch, the dessert was somewhat disappointing and felt overdone. A venue of Hotel Albrecht’s calibre would deserve a memorable signature dessert. The combination of almond biscuit, coconut and chia cream, pistachios, chocolate and pomegranate lacked harmony and did not come together convincingly. The biggest flaw, however, was the problematic service, marked by significant inconsistency in quality. Improving service standards to a solid and reliable level would help bring Hotel Albrecht back to the top of Bratislava’s culinary scene.
