4 Sochy

On the way to the main square in Banská Štiavnica, one cannot miss the restaurant 4 Sochy, which has established itself as a local representative of fine gastronomy under the thumb of Rasťo Anguš, both Chef and owner. The striking green building, crowned with four statues on its attic is visible from afar. The distinctive character continues seamlessly inside in the interior. A small, cosy courtyard terrace filled with greenery and soft glowing lights creates a particularly enchanting atmosphere, especially in the evening, and the outside world seems to fade away. In addition to its special opening hours, the restaurant offers a carefully curated à la carte menu that changes weekly, reflecting seasonal produce and the Chef’s inspirations, an approach that is highly appreciated. We sampled roasted suckling pig cooked with dark beer, followed by a sweet-and-sour panna cotta to finish. Across the menu, the dishes share a common thread: subtle, pleasant, not too complicated combinations of flavours. When strolling through Štiavnica, 4 Sochy is undoubtedly a stop not to be missed.
