Tirolská Izba, located just outside the centre of Bratislava, immediately catches the eye with its yellow façade and large sign, and in the summer, it also attracts guests with outdoor seating. The interior, designed in a rustic style, evokes a traditional Tyrolean wooden chalet, with green furniture and decorations that bring the Alpine countryside to mind. True to its name, the restaurant references one of Austria’s regions, though the menu also includes elements of Italian and Slovak cuisine. Guests can enjoy spätzle, dumplings, soups, risottos, and classic Slovak dishes. The service is professional and friendly, with waitstaff dressed in traditional costumes paying attention to every detail and showing genuine care for guest satisfaction. During busy periods, however, more than two staff members would improve service speed. The veal schnitzel with potato salad was a particularly pleasant take on the classic, with a paper-thin, crispy coating and a squeeze of lemon. The schnitzel was perfectly thin, just as it should be according to the Viennese original, accompanied by a delicious potato salad garnished with fresh herbs. We were also impressed by the generously sized Tyrolean cake filled with plum jam, light, fluffy, and sprinkled with poppy seeds. Tirolská Izba offers hearty, well-prepared food in a welcoming Alpine-chalet atmosphere, appealing to diners of all ages.
