Zlatá Putňa is located in the village of Viničky, in the heart of the Tokaj wine region. The setting is tranquil and natural, with an authentic countryside character, making it ideal for guests who wish to experience Tokaj in its purest form. The exterior is rustic, reflecting the region’s signature offering: Tokaj wine. From the moment you arrive, there is a sense of entering a place where wine, hospitality, and home-style cooking come together naturally. The interior is warm and welcoming, seamlessly extending the winemaking theme. The atmosphere throughout our visit was extremely pleasant, with staff who were kind, helpful, genuinely friendly, and expertly familiar with the wine list. They recommended sampling their house wines under the Zlatý strapec label, particularly the barrel-aged options, which are young, fresh, and vibrant. The kitchen focuses on Slovak cuisine with roots in the Zemplín region, built on traditional flavours and honest, careful preparation. Wine is an integral part of the concept, not a mere accompaniment. We recommend trying the bean goulash, pancakes with poppy seed filling and wine sauce, and especially the pike-perch paprikash with house-made halušky. The restaurant is well suited to tourists exploring Tokaj, to guests seeking traditional dishes prepared to a high standard, and to anyone looking for an authentic regional experience without unnecessary embellishment.
