PLAZA BEACH Restaurant

It might be rather hard to find an establishment with comparable charm anywhere in eastern Slovakia. This restaurant, in a Mediterranean-like-style villa with high ceilings, mother-of-pearl chandeliers, and antique furniture, creates an elegant yet cosy atmosphere. Parking is convenient, and public transport is within easy reach. After a warm welcome, the staff served a Tuscan tomato soup, notable for its full flavour and perfectly balanced texture, exactly as one would expect from this classic dish. This was followed by Duroc pork neck, prepared on the Mibrasa grill. The meat was juicy and of high quality, with a deep smoky flavour. A minor distraction was the choice of radio music, which felt out of place with the otherwise carefully considered character of the venue. The staff could have also been more proactive in presenting and explaining the menu offerings. Despite these small shortcomings, it remains a tasteful and pleasant setting, ideal for a date, a family lunch, or dinner with friends. Be sure to try their excellent tiramisu. Were it not for the accents of the other guests, you would hardly guess you were still in Prešov.
