La Simona

Do you enjoy cosy, smaller restaurants? If so, make sure to visit La Simona in Liptovský Mikuláš. After spending many years primarily in Italy, the Vlh couple opened an unusual Italian restaurant in a multi-purpose building next to a public car park. Do not be misled; thanks to the sophisticated interior design, lighting, and colours, you will not notice any of that once inside. The restaurant also features a terrace, which is heated during the winter months. It is worth mentioning that from Monday to Thursday they serve à la carte, focusing mainly on excellent house-made pasta, while at weekends you can try their renowned Neapolitan pizza. We opted for a pizza topped with a boldly yet pleasantly spicy nduja, which we really appreciated, along with the perfectly prepared dough. We were thoroughly delighted by the tomato soup, which had a rich flavour and just the right amount of cheese. We also tried the tiramisu, which was perfectly flavoured, richly coffee-infused, creamy, and just the right level of sweetness. Combine this with the cheerful service, and you have an excellent spot for a delicious meal.
