Koliba Kamzík

Koliba Kamzík in Starý Smokovec is a well-established venue where every tourist has the opportunity to experience traditional Slovak cuisine. We are particularly pleased to see restaurants that continue presenting our culinary traditions. The charming exterior and folk-style interior perfectly complement the restaurant’s concept. However, the staff, dressed in traditional attire, could be more attentive, ensuring guests are looked after from arrival to departure. The menu primarily features classic dishes, with a few more contemporary options. We sampled a vegetable cream soup with bryndza, which provided a pleasant contrast to the soup’s flavours, as well as braised beef served with šúľance and an intriguing plum sauce. The dishes were prepared with care, unpretentious and honest. Although they may not have been particularly inventive, the meal was satisfying, and it was evident that the kitchen prepared them with care. After a rewarding day of hiking in the Tatras, a generous serving of traditional Slovak cuisine at Koliba Kamzík is certainly most welcome.
